History

Southern K Ranch, Inc. was created in 1996 due to a dream that President Stanley Knowles had. He began a program that allowed youth to learn and experience nature and horsemanship. Since 2001, Southern K Ranch has provided summer activities to 275 youth or more each year.

Local therapeutic youth and children from Fulton county parks and recreation, North Fulton therapeutic, local day care centers, as well as, parks and recreational facilities from neighboring counties have recieved teachings from Southern K Ranch staff.

The ranch is nestled on 22 acres of land in unincorporated College Park, (South Fulton County) among newly constructed sub-divisions and custom homes. With two barns, and a full rodeo arena, Southern K Ranch stands as an icon of its own. In 1999, S.K.R. produced its first rodeo. The rodeo brought over 2000 spectators, this event continues to draw over 2000 fans each Mother's Day weekend and has made the South Fulton community rodeo and festival a tradition in Cliftondale community of South Fulton. Thousands look forward to attending the South Fulton rodeo and festival each year. The SFCR & F is the only rodeo in the southeast which is known for being a professional multi-cultural rodeo with cowboys and cowgirls coming from as far west as Oklahoma, Texas, and all states surrounding Georgia. Proceeds from the rodeo help to support summer programs for the youth.
